Building Inspector


 SALARY RANGE:  $51k - $57k

Depends on Qualifications


The purpose of this job is to ensure that buildings and related systems meet or exceed minimum standards for protection of the safety and welfare of the consumer, general public, owners and occupants.  Duties and responsibilities include providing information; performing inspections; accepting and processing permit applications; and providing input concerning potential approval of permits and certificates of occupancy.


High school diploma (or GED) required, with five years of experience of an increasingly responsible administrative nature in work involving building inspection, design or construction; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Requires the following valid/current certification/licensure:   Valid Driver's License, ICC Residential Building Inspector Certification (or the ability to obtain said certification within six months of hire).
