City Administrator


The City of Decherd is seeking applicants for the position of City Administrator who works under the general direction of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.  The City Administrator oversees city operations, assists in preparing the annual budget, acts as purchasing agent for the city and has general supervision of all city employees. There are approximately 70 full-time employees in administration, police, public works, sewer, parks and recreation, and building and codes departments. 

The minimum qualifications for this position are a bachelor’s degree in public administration, management, business administration or municipal leadership experience as a city administrator or manager of a public agency or department with related duties. The city offers a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS).
