Deputy Town Engineer

This position requires the performance of complex and professional engineering work involving land development projects, Capital Improvement Projects, water, sewer, street, drainage, and public works projects and programs and ensures technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria.  The incumbent in this position is a direct report to the Town Engineer and works under his general guidance and direction.  The incumbent may also perform the duties of the Division Director in the absence of the Town Engineer.  This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; previous experience and/or training that includes civil engineering, environmental/utility engineering, computerized mapping, drafting, project management, research, and data analysis is preferred; and five (5) years of previous professional Civil Engineering experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Tennessee or possess the ability to obtain license within six (6) months of employment and maintain license throughout employment.  Stormwater Certification is preferred, but not required.  Must have public speaking and leadership skills.  Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. 

Salary is $54,541 - $84,023 depending on qualifications, with excellent benefits package.
