Engineering Technician II

The City of Brentwood Engineering Department seeks a self-motivated individual to serve as an Engineering Technician filling a critical role in the inspection of construction projects and public infrastructure for the city.  The selected individual will work mostly independently, must possess a driver’s license with a clean driving record, and shall be able to conduct and manage daily inspection processes for projects as specified by contract documents, plans, specifications, and ordinances.  This individual must have the ability to use technology for reviewing plans, contract documents, and general data entry.  Responsibilities include physical inspection of active construction sites, MS4 outfalls, and general plan review.  The successful candidate will work closely with the City Engineer to communicate objectives and findings.  This is a full-time position with some scheduling flexibility, throughout the typical work week of Monday through Friday between 7:30am and 4:30pm.  Associates Degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, construction management or related field required.
