Fire Chief


The Town of Atoka is seeking a full-time Fire Chief due to planned retirement. The Town of Atoka is in
Tipton County, Tennessee, approximately 30 miles north of Memphis, and has a population of over 10,000.
Atoka Fire Department consists of 16 full-time firefighters and up to 10 reserve firefighters. The Fire Chief
is a highly visible municipal department head that is expected to project a professional image of self, the
fire department, and the town in all situations. Under the general direction and supervision of the Town
Administrator, the Fire Chief is in command of the Atoka Fire Department and is responsible for the overall
leadership and daily operational readiness of the department and exhibit a high degree of moral character.

The fire chief must build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and serves as a
key member of the town's leadership team. The successful candidate will have the following characteristics;
positive attitude with impeccable integrity, ethics, and professionalism, self-motivated, detail oriented and
well organized. The candidate must also be team-oriented and be able to communicate effectively with the
public and all departments.

This is an Exempt position. Salary range is expected to be $60,000 - $68,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
