Safety Coordinator

Mt. Juliet

Safety Coordinator is a new position within the City of Mt. Juliet.  Candidate will report to Human Resources & Risk Management and provide support to all City Departments.  Position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the City’s Safety Program.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and local/municipality guidelines
  • Coordinate and disseminate the delivery of safety related training and materials
  • Develop and implement hazardous material safety procedures
  • Investigate accidents/incidents
  • Maintain all safety related documentation/records
  • Partner with Department Heads to develop and foster a safety culture that is well communicated and supported by all members of City Management

Qualified candidates will have experience in establishing a safety culture through continuous training, root cause analysis, and accident investigation.

A Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety preferred or a combination of safety training certification and occupational safety experience.

$25.26 - $35.93 per hour (DOE).  Step system with top-out pay in 5 years.  Annual performance bonus potential.
