The Town of Alexandria is currently accepting applications for the position of Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO)
The CMFO is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the town in accordance with state laws and governmental accounting standards. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, purchasing and ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must hold current CMFO certification from the State of Tennessee
- Prior experience in municipal finance or government accounting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting, budgeting practices and Quickbooks
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage the town’s annual budget.
- Maintain accurate financial records and generate required reports.
- Work with the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, and town department heads to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Coordinate audits and comply with all state and federal reporting requirements.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
