Sylvia Harris is the Senior Director of Conference and Meeting Planning for the Tennessee Municipal League (TML), where she has worked closely with city governments for nearly four decades.
Her career began in 1982 with the University of Tennessee’s Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS), where she worked in the TML office and collaborated directly with TML staff. In 1985, she officially joined TML as an executive secretary and production manager, later transitioning into conference planning and assuming leadership of the planning efforts in 1997.
Throughout her tenure, Harris has played a pivotal role in organizing and managing TML’s conferences and events, consistently delivering memorable experiences for attendees.
A native of Henderson, Tenn., Harris is known for her extensive institutional knowledge, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to serving local governments statewide.
