FACILITIES MAINTENANCE

The City of Cleveland Building, Facility & Project Management Department is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Facilities Maintenance I.  The purpose of this job is to perform semi-skilled to skilled landscaping, construction, automotive, heavy equipment maintenance, and repair tasks related to the assigned department.

This position works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Salary Range: $32,218 - $48,278

Major activities of this job include:

  • Performs routine general and preventative maintenance, cleaning, and/or preparation of equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Operates a variety of hand/power tools used for construction, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Operates grass cutting equipment, pneumatic equipment, weed eaters and hand blowers.
  • Operates various trucks (size and weight) during the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, gravel, and sand.
  • Landscapes work area after repairs/installations.
  • Perform inspections and repair minor irrigation issues.
  • Monitors and maintains inventory levels of equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Performs building maintenance.
  • Rakes and loads grass and brush, mows lawns and cleans grounds.
  • Participates in cleaning and maintaining shop equipment and work areas.
  • Performs work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures and operates equipment safely.
  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor/superintendent.
  • Performs related work as required.

 Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent and related experience. 

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
